Barbecue the easy way
June 19, 2008
I just love barbecue of any kind, but I especially love pulled pork. Now, since I am not a genius with a smoker, that means when I need a fix for barbecue, I have to head on over to the local barbecue restaurant. So, I definitely do not get it as often as I would like. But Ashley, a friend of mine, told me the easiest way to make barbecue pork with a good old crock pot. You will not believe how easy this is to make!
Pork Barbecue Recipe
1 Pork Picnic Roast
1 2 Liter of Coke
Your favorite Barbecue Sauce
Liquid Smoke
Place your picnic roast in a cold crock pot and pour Coke over the roast until it is completely submerged. Then cook on low for 8 hours, when it is finished it will be fork tender. Pour out the Coke and use a fork to separate the pork. Add a few drops of liquid smoke to your barbecue sauce and mix it up into the pork.
Yes, it is that simple and that delicious. This makes quite a bit so I usually freeze at least half of it for an easy meal later.
