I am sure that most of you are familiar with Susan at Between Naps on The Porch .  Her popular blog is filled with beautiful pictures of home ideas and her decorating tutorials will definitely inspire you.  On the back of her house, she has a fantastic porch, where she has created the coziest living space.  It really does look like the perfect place to sleep away the afternoon. If you don’t already frequent her blog, you really must go over there right now.  You will be glad that you did.

This is an especially good day to visit because I am sponsoring a giveaway there…but I will tell you more about that later.

Between Naps On The Porch

Thursday is personally my favorite day of the week at BNOTP because Susan hosts Tablescape Thursday.  She  has over one hundred bloggers link to her site every week and share their tablescape ideas.   These ladies (and some gentlemen) are so creative and come up with the best ideas.

For so long, I have visited on Thursdays and thought, maybe I will post a tablescape next week. But sadly, procrastination kicked in and it never happened. Well, no more!  I am finally here with a tablescape of my own!

f

The weather has been so beautiful here lately, that the table had to be set up outside.  There are are just a few leaves left on the trees and there won’t be that many days left like this…

f

Because here in Kentucky, the weather fades fast and before you know it, it is nasty and bitter cold.

f

The new owl plates by J. Willfred are the perfect picture of fall, so I decided to use them as a starting place for setting the table.

f

Then I was off to my mother’s house to borrow her Mikasa dinner plates, they really do seem to go with everything.

f

While I was there I found this little wooden friend as well…

f

The small cream owl plate is supposed to be used as a salad plate, but I think it is small enough that it would be a cute bread plate too.

f

Here is a nice picture of my phone in the background… I should probably think about brushing up on my photography skills.

f

I spotted this owl at Marshall’s, he really needed to come home with me.

The rust colored napkins and wooden napkin rings are from Kohl’s.  The amber glasses are courtesy of the 1970’s and were found at the my Good Will.

    f

I sneaked in this little owl into the centerpiece because my daughter made it in Kindergarten last week as a craft. She was very happy to see it on the table.

Well, here is my very first Tablescape Thursday and I am so glad that I stopped procrastinating and finally joined in the fun!  Thank you Susan, for creating something to look forward to every Thursday!

Now, I told you, there would be more information about a give away at  Between Naps On The Porch later in the post. I am very excited to announce that the The Charmed Life is giving away a  Crosby & Taylor Pewter Measuring Spoons Set  with Post, in any design you choose!

These are the very same spoons that Paula Deen uses on her food network show and and are handmade right here in the United States.  The picture is of the bird collection, but Crosby and Taylor makes a design for everyone.   So go on over there and read how you can enter… because you know you want to win!
